Global Electric Company supplies GI earthing strip — GI patti — from stock held at our Rajajinagar shop in Bengaluru. The stocked range covers eight sizes, 25×3 mm through 75×12 mm, which between them cover most earthing layouts, equipment connections and main earthing runs. The strip is supplied to IS 2062, and a Material Test Certificate ships with every order. Alongside it we stock copper strip, GI earthing pipe to IS 1239, earthing plates, salt, charcoal, funnels and GI wire, so related BOQ lines can go into one enquiry. Send the size, quantity and delivery location on WhatsApp and we will check it against what is on the floor.
Which GI strip size do you need?
Follow the dimensions in your approved drawing, BOQ or consultant’s specification. If the size has not been fixed yet, ask the electrical designer to confirm the width and thickness for the earthing system — that is a design decision, not a procurement one. Once it is approved, put the dimensions and total length into the strip weight calculator to turn metres into an estimated quantity, then send us the specified size and quantity to check against stock.

Material Specification
IS 2062 Conformance
All GI strips supplied by Global Electric Company are to IS 2062, the Indian Standard for hot-rolled medium and high tensile structural steel. A Material Test Certificate ships with every order. How to read the certificate.
Galvanisation
Hot-dip galvanised for corrosion resistance underground. Zinc coating provides the cathodic protection required for long-term performance in Bengaluru's clay and laterite soils.
IS 3043 Application
